Bought and stripped : May 2001
My "project of the
year" 2001 is a 1975/76 Z50A K6 Mini Trail.
The name plate on the frame reads:
Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
Made in Japan 1976 Model: 11/75
About the same time over here
in Germany the Z50J1 Monkey was introduced.
Compared to the german Z50J1 the Z50A K6 has:
no speedometer (small headlight-bucket)
no battery
no starting switch (only a kill switch on the handlebar)
no steering lock
square taillight, no taillight bracket with number plate holder

| I bought this bike some day end of May 2001. The color is a "heavy" purple and not original, of course, but the paint is very nicely done. The seat cover is white but unfortunately has a crack on the upper side, about 1in long. |

| The first pictures after bringing the bike home. The chrome on front fender and handlebars is poor, kill-switch is missing, taillight lens is worn and chrome on the taillight base is poor. Engine runs fine but obviously is not the original engine, because serial number begins with AB02... | ||

| So what ? If it´s a model 75, it
is a K6, if it is made 1976 it is a Z50 1976...?! According to the frame number it is a model 76. Orginal color then must have been "Parakeet Yellow". |
