NIKASIL
® coated Cylinder (Summer 2005)
New intake manifold (June 2006)

The grey thing you see in the picture above is a new NIKASIL-(
nickel silicon-carbide plating) coated Cylinder I bought from a Specialist in the Netherlands. The old Takegawa-Cylinder had made some strange noises, a "clacking" sound when idling, so we took the engine apart and found some clear signs of wear in the cylinder. This may be a result of the engine become very hot before I decided to install an oil-cooler.

Now the engine runs fine and smooth again.

The little bike still provides lots of fun, especially when riding it in or around the city. Nice acceleration, GREAT sound. This high-revving toy ist not the best choice for the longer ride but this is not what it was built to be, anyway.

June 7 2006 - NEW adjustable aluminium intake manifold replaced the old "piece of rubber". Looks much better and in fact engine runs smoother now, too.
